Policies and more info (Private lessons)
Parking and Entrance
The studio address is 250 Anderson St., Portland. Parking is available in the lot next to the building or on the street. The entrance is up the ramp, on the street side of the building (marked Main Entrance). Please plan to show up right on time, because there is no waiting room for early arrivals. It's a secure building and the front door is locked, so I will meet you at the door right at your lesson time. If you have any trouble finding it or are running late, please call my cell 207-899-6972.
A 24 hour cancellation policy applies to private lessons, but more time is greatly appreciated. Please contact me as soon as you know you will miss your lesson. Lessons cancelled without 24 hours notice will incur the lesson fee. For workshops, please see separate policies here.
In the case of severe instructor illness or inclement weather your lesson will be rescheduled.
The studio is on the first floor with a ramp at the entrance. If you use a wheelchair or if you need any accommodations please let me know ahead of time so I can set up the studio for your best comfort.
We use stools or chairs and upright easels. If you need any special accommodation or if you have equipment preferences please let me know in advance so I can set up the studio for your best comfort. Please wear comfortable clothing that you won’t mind getting messy. I do have smocks and aprons for students to use.
If you have specific goals for your lesson, or if you plan to bring reference materials with you please let me know ahead of time so I can set up appropriately. You do not need to bring any materials with you to your first lesson.
Good to know
Lessons are held in a private studio within a larger cooperative studio building where other artists are working. Sometimes this means there are noises or minor disturbances during our lessons, but it's rarely an issue. Most of the time it's fun to be working amid so much creativity!
