Join us for a summer day of botanical drawing from life!
Artist Aidan Ackerman will lead us through the process of creating an original botanical drawing step by step using found natural materials as inspiration. We'll practice techniques of composition, line, shading, and color application. Each student will leave with at least one finished drawing. While botanical drawing leans toward realism and more detail, each student will be encouraged to bring their own style to their drawings with freedom to choose their level of detail. No previous drawing experience is required.
This class requires 5 students to run. Please sign up early to save your spot.
The workshop fee includes paper and a selection of studio supplies to use, however if you prefer specific materials please bring them!
Paper of your choice, we suggest smooth surface watercolor paper
Pencils of your choice
Erasers of your choice
Watercolors and brushes (please bring if you have them!)
Found natural materials such as flowers (fresh or dried), leaves, weeds, feathers, bark, etc.
