SCRAPS: Todd Pattison
Saturday, July 28th, 5-8pm
Artist's statement: "Beautiful paper is still beautiful no matter how small it is. I find it hard to recycle or throw away even the smallest scraps and enjoy the process of trying to turn them into something magical. By combining small pieces, either actual pieces of paper or tiny books made from scrap paper, you can build pattern, texture, diversity of color and an object that invites people to touch or examine."
Bio: Todd Pattison has worked as a Book Conservator for over 20 years. He first became fascinated with binding books in the Boy Scouts while completing his Bookbinding Merit Badge. He is interested in the construction of various binding styles and the history of bookbinding in general. He also hates to waste anything and prefers to take his “scraps” and try to make something - either collages or miniature books. Todd is the co-owner of Pattison Paperworks.
